Yet, we all feel this impending sense of something; this something that is elusive; something that’ll be better off real, something that’s more tangible than a mobile phone, a cola bottle, the T.V warp, a fashion sense; something that meets our needs and doesn’t fuel our greed; something that would steer us away from a murky homogenization and conformism and light our way into tolerant multiculturalism.
We here at Pait Puja World Café believe that food, ecology, feminism, youth, art, community and culture might just be the equalizing aspects of globalization. And these are the very ingredients (along with our minimal-oil use recipes, occasionally seasonal organic vegetables and garnishing, and smiling servers) that make for a gastronomically enlivening experience. Pait Puja World Café nights bring together keen people (friends, patrons, guest chefs, servers) across age, class, gender, caste, region, ethnicity, makes authentic international cuisine more accessible, and opens forum for discussion and display of ideas for a better world.
The first of it’s kind in Dehradun, it's a must see, must hear, must smell, must taste, must feel, must tell.
Currently, Pait Puja World Café takes place on the last Saturday evening of every month. For September, the café’s third month in running, 24th is the date you mark in your schedule. This time the café is a ‘Moving Planet’ event (a global initiative to show solidarity and conviction to move away from fossil fuels onto renewable sources of energy).
